As we pass the halfway mark of the summer season we begin to tire of the usual Chicago festival fare. Local bands, merchants and a plastic cup filled to the brim with warm beer just aren't going to cut it going into the latter half of the season. If you're bored from the general malaise of the same old summer street thing, stop by the Humboldt Park Boat House beginning Tuesday, July 26th and get ready for a brand new beat.

The Department of Cultural Affairs and Special events, in conjunction with the Chicago Park District, is taking Summerdance from the South Loop to the grassy knolls of Humboldt Park. Not only will you have the opportunity to shake your groove 'thang at the Boathouse, with dance lessons prior to the live salsa and Latin jazz acts taking the boathouse's stage to inspire your dancing feet. These events are 100 percent free to the public.

So grab your partner and your dancing shoes and head west to the Humboldt Park Boathouse for something different this summer.

Program Schedule
July 26 - Dance Event
July 28 - Movie, "Mad Hot Ballroom"
Aug. 10 - Summer Dance Event
Aug. 12 - Jazz Concert
All Summerdance events at the Humboldt Park Boathouse are free to the public
