As it enters its fifth year, the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Greater Illinois Chapter's Festiv-Ale is growing at a rate commensurate with Chicago's local craft beer community. Participating breweries and brewpubs include the breweries driving the growth (Goose Island, Half Acre, Two Brothers); the new kids on the block (5Rabbit, Finch's Beer Co., Chicago Beer Co.); some of the better suburban brewpubs, (Flossmoor Station, Limestone, Brickstone Brewery) and some of the better breweries in the Midwest (Great Lakes, Crown, Crispin Cider Co.).

In addition to unlimited beer tastings, the event also features live music, heavy appetizers so you don't get stupid drunk, silent auctions and bucket raffles and raffles of towers of beer. Carmichael's Steak House in the West Loop is more than capable of hosting this event and also is one of the underrated beer bars in the city. The addition of City Provisions as one of the food providers only increases the value of your admission.

The Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Greater Chicago Chapter's Festiv-Ale, 7-11 p.m. Sep. 16. VIP reception 6-7 p.m. Tickets are available for purchase here.
