Taste of the Nation Chicago is less than a month away and tonight you have a chance to get free tickets to the event with a Chef's Ride-Along kickoff party from 5-8 p.m. at the newly opened La Colombe (955 W. Randolph). Gaztro-Wagon will be there to sell their newly launched line of mini-naanwiches (which we ate at Tour de Fat), Flirty Cupcakes will be selling, um, cupcakes, hand made salumis and meat cones from Old Town Social's Jared van Camp will be available and Hot Chocolate's Mindy Segal is providing aqua frescas. La Colombe will give away iced coffee to the first 20 people who show up and 8 pairs of Tickets to Taste of the Nation Chicago will be raffled.

Wine Tasting

DOC Wine Bar (2602 N. Clark St) has a class tonight from 7-9 p.m. that explores the world of sauvignon and fume blancs. Among the featured wines this evening are Snoqualmie Sauvignon Blanc, Mason Sauvignon Blanc, Ferrari Carano Fume Blanc, Dog Point Sauvignon Blanc and Cloudy Bay Sauvignon Blanc, all served with appetizers so you don't get too tipsy. Cost is $35.

Film

Huge David Bowie fan Tankboy is going to miss out on this one. The Music box is screening Bowie's The Man Who Fell to Earth tonight at 5 and 8 p.m.
