The Tributes are still coming in for Lynfred Winery founder Fred Koehler, who passed away on Saturday. Mr. Koehler, the man who helped lay the foundation for Illinois' wine industry, lost a six-month battle with cancer at the age of 83.

A wake will be held for Mr. Koehler from 3-9 p.m. tomorrow at Geils Funeral Home, 260 W. Irving Park Rd. in Wood Dale, with the funeral Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Roselle.

Lynfred Marketing Director Christina Anderson-Heller is also arranging a twitter toast to Mr. Koehler Friday at 7 p.m. Anderson-Heller is asking Lynfred winery fans, fans of Illinois wine and oenophiles in general to raise a glass of wine and tweet #ToastToFred in Mr. Koehler's memory. We already have a few nice Lynfred selections in reserve for this.
