Two Cops Injured in West Side Shooting

2010_07_20_CPD.jpg Two police officers were injured in a shooting incident on the West side late last night.

The incident occurred in an alley at South Karlov and West Wilcox around 10:45 p.m. last night. The two officers were responding to what they believed was a drug deal. When the officers got out of their squad car, a man drew a handgun and shot both of them. The officers are expected to make a full recovery. Police also are questioning a person of interest in the shooting.

Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy said of the shooting, "God was with us tonight."
