We knew already that condos at the former Playboy Mansion were out of our price range, but this listing for a full single-floor, four bedroom, five bath condo in the building gives us an idea of how the top ten percent of Americans live.

Baird & Warner listing agent Katherine Chez Malkin tells Curbed Chicago's Mark Boyer that this condo is perfect for the person looking for a single family home because of its brightness and 20-foot high ceilings: it used to be Hugh Hefner's ballroom and must be a bitch to dust.

The condo was purchased by philanthropist Abby McCormick O'Neil for $2.1 million in 1994. Even with the current state of the real estate market, a $6.7 million listing is enough to give us an arrhythmia; imagine what the listing would be at the peak of the market. For the proverbial shits and giggles, we used Baird & Warner's online mortgage calculator to determine our mortgage options if we placed an offer of $4.5 million on the table. Here's what our mortgage options would be.

This is one of many reasons we've been renting in Bridgeport for a dozen years.
