Here's a story that captures the "FU" feeling that comes with old age. An 83-year-old Elgin woman was arrested for battery of a police officer and resisting arrest after allegedly scratching the policeman's arm until it bled.

The policeman saw Rosella Robinson sitting in her car in a part of Elgin noted for its gang and drug activity. When Robinson spotted the patrol car, she did a u-turn and drove off. The policeman caught up to Robinson, but she tried to drive away. When the officer reached into her car to remove the keys from the ignition, that's when Robinson started beating and scratching his arm until she drew blood.

Because of Robinson's advanced age, Judge James Hallock was asked to come to the police station for an emergency hearing last night to have her remanded on bond. Robinson now faces an Aug. 9 court hearing.
