YAWN Tease Upcoming Album With New Single

We mentioned last month that YAWN were preparing to release their first full-length, Open Season. While we’ve still got more than a month until the album’s official August 30 release, the local electro-pop quartet have offered a little taste of what’s in store.
Open Season’s debut single, “Acid” was premiered on Stereogum earlier this week. The track was actually first leaked last year, back when it was thought that the new album would be an EP rather than a full-length. The new version is considerably shorter and tighter, driven by a steady, whirling rhythm with tribal percussion, shimmering synth, and swirling vocal harmonies.
Along with the new single, YAWN have revealed the tracklist for Open Season, which you can check out down yonder. The full-length is preceded by a self-titled EP and a remix of that EP, both of which you can download for FREE through their website. To promote the new album, they’ll head off on tour this September, trekking the U.S. with tourmates Mates Of States. But beforehand, the band will show some local love with a record release show at Schubas the date of the release.
