Two of Chicago's Top Pastry Ladies Hit Reality Televison

We're really only excited about competition TV when Chicagoans are involved - otherwise, we just end up rooting for the cutest or the meanest. Luckily for lovers of Food TV, you'll have two great local contestants to root for in the coming months. Amanda Rockman (of the Bristol) and Sarah Levy (of Sarah's Candies) are both heading into the spotlight - one on Top Chef: Just Desserts and the other on Food Network Challenge.

The news about Rockman hit last week, when the Tribune reported that she'd been picked for the cast. If we could only eat one dessert for the rest of our lives, it would be her apple basque cake of magnificence, so we think she should have a good chance of winning. Yesterday, 312 Dining Diva announced Levy's appearance on August 21st. Apparently, Levy is going to make a 3-foot tall moving dinosaur cake. That'll be a video worth watching.
