See Food - Patron Secret Dining Society

By Anthony Todd in Food on Jul 29, 2011 8:20PM

Last night, a few lucky members of the Patron Secret Dining Society gathered in an unmarked warehouse on the North Side for a pretty amazing event. The underground supper club took over the venue and filled it with lights, candles and food by Rick Bayless and some great cocktails created by mixologist Michael Simon.

Subscribers to the email list got very very short notice of the event and had to follow a scavenger hunt to the venue. But, it was all worth it to see Rick Bayless waiting in the kitchen. Despite a few minor snafus, like the MC introducing Michael Simon as the mixologist at The Black Sheep (he left the restaurant last week, only a month after opening) and then pushing him aside in favor of the "real star" of the evening, Bayless, it was a good time. Their interior designer should get an award, as the venue felt like our perfect vision of a posh, secret, romantic party. If you didn't get a spot, sign up for the Patron Social Club and try again next time.
