Funny Ha-Ha: Hot Stuff at The Hideout

By Betsy Mikel in Arts & Entertainment on Aug 1, 2011 8:40PM

2011_07FunnyHaha.jpg Claire Zulkey, a favorite local author and generally hysterical person, is hosting her monthly reading series at The Hideout tomorrow. We chatted with her last year for our Chicago Author Spotlight series and since then have been enjoying her tweets and her blog very much. Her writing really spruces up a boring Monday back at the office, and she does great work to curate a series that will bring a smile to every face.

Her lineup this month is particularly good. Amy Dickinson, “Ask Amy" columnist and "Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me!" panelist is on the bill, and she gets major funny points for her quick wit on the live show. Also look for Bitchesgottaeat Blogger and Sunday Night Sex Show Contributor Samantha Irby, Write Club Overlord Ian Belknap, Comedy Central's Indecision Blogger Dennis DiClaudio, Comedian James Fritz, Jezebel Blogger Erin Gloria Ryan and Filmmaker Extraordinaire Joe Avella. If we were funnier, we would make some really funny joke right now about what you should attend tomorrow night. But when it comes down to it, it’ll just be a really funny good time. So that’s why you should go.
