Obama Fundraiser Shuts Down Means Delays for Lawrence Red Line Station

By Chuck Sudo in News on Aug 3, 2011 6:20PM

President Obama is in town tonight for an early 50th birthday party and campaign fundraiser (probably not in that order). Uptown residents who normally leave their trains at the Lawrence Red Line station better start planning accordingly for the trip home.

The Lawrence Red Line station will be closed from 5:30 and 9:45 p.m. this evening to accommodate the President's soiree. Wilson and Argyle will still be open.

Update: We received word from CTA Media Relations that the Lawrence Red Line Station will be open throughout the run of the president's fundraiser, but that passengers should expect delays at the start and end of the fundraiser.
