Morning Box Score: Sox Solve Minnesota Again

By Chuck Sudo in News on Aug 7, 2011 1:30PM

White Sox 6, Minnesota 1

The White Sox made it two wins in a row against the Twins thanks to a solid spot start from Zach Stewart. Stewart pitched 6-1/3 inning, giving up eight hits but only one run, before turning it over to the bullpen. Chris Sale and Brendan Frasor worked out of an eighth inning jam and, just as Ozzie Guillen called for Sergio Santos, the Sox lineup gave him some insurance courtesy of a four-run ninth capped by Brent Lillibridge's two-run homer. The Sox send Jake Peavy to the mound as the Sox shoot for a sweep at Target Field at 2:10 p.m.
