We love the Koval Lion's Pride whiskeys and are happy the Andersonville distillery is set to debut a limited edition four-grain blended whiskey. How limited? They only produced 166 bottles. "47th Ward" is also their first overproof whiskey, coming in at 94 proof.

Given the quality of Koval's spirits and the extremely limited number of bottles - you can buy 47th Ward at Koval's tasting room and online at Binny's - there's going to be a rush on this. But Koval is also teaming up with the Fountainhead for a tasting of 47th Ward in the 47th Ward tonight from 7-9 p.m. The tasting, which will also feature Koval's single grain whiskeys and spirits, is also being held in conjunction with the inaugural Liquid Chicago cocktail week. This tasting is open to all, but Koval is asking that people interested in attending email marketing director Meg Bell here so they have an idea of how many people to expect. Cover is $10 cash at the door.
