Open House

StoryStudio Chicago has an Open House tonight from 5-7 p.m. If you've ever considered taking a writing class - they offer business writing, creative writing, novel and memoir writing and everything in between - this is a good opportunity to stop by, see the space, and ask some questions. They’ll have coffee, tea, and cookies, too. (4043 N. Ravenswood, #222.)

Food/Reality Televison

If you’re a fan of MasterChef, you won’t want to miss this - a viewing party with food cooked by one of the contestants, Suzy Singh. From 6-9 p.m. tonight at Benchmark, enjoy some special dishes, including butter chicken tacos topped with red onions, lime, and cilantro or paneer topped with spinach. Grey Goose cocktails are $5 and Singh will be there to mix and mingle. (1510 N. Wells Street)

Soundtrack Serenade Tackles The Wedding Singer

This month's installment of Quenchers Soundtrack Serenade brings together the band Androgynous Mustache performing the soundtrack to The Wedding Singer, one of Adam Sandler's more tolerable film vehicles. The film will be screened in the background and trivia from the film will be intertwined between songs for the crowd to win prizes...Prizes range from clothing (new and used), delicious shots of Malort, pints of beer served in a pint glass, homeopathic medical advice from the barstaff, horticulture tips from the soundman and a used Slip’n’Slide. (2401 N. Western Ave., 9:30 p.m.)
