Soul Train celebrates its 40th anniversary this year and the city is paying its respects to Don Cornelius and company. Expo 72's Soul Train photography exhibition is ongoing for a few more weeks. At 2 p.m. Sunday the Cultural Center will host a free screening of the documentary Soul Train: The Hippest Trip in America.
The documentary features clips from the show, behind the scenes accounts of the show's production over the years from cast and crew, and reflection on from musicians, actors and others about how the show shaped them. Chicago Public Radio's Richard Steele will moderate a post-screening discussion with a panel including Jake Austen, Clinton Ghent, George Daniels, and others.
