Morning Box Score: Sox Fall to Royals, Braves Stomp Cubs

In the beginning the White Sox had a chance to take a big lead when Alex Rios stepped
to the plate with bases loaded in the top of the first, but he popped out symbolizing
the struggles the Sox have faced this season. The Royals capitalized on errors and
miscommunications between teammates leading them to a 5 to 1 victory over the
struggling Sox. Top of the ninth with no outs, Melky Cabrera stole second base and made
it to third on an error showing the true defensive struggles of the Sox.
The Braves' Dan Uggla impressively extended his hitting streak to 32 games when the Cubs were shut down by the Braves on Friday 10-4. Zambrano didn’t last long, playing only 4 and 1/3 innings, and left the team high and dry. Zambrano then gathered his things and left, saying he plans to "retire." The Cubs continue to struggle this season, but hey, there’s always next year, right true believers? On the bright side, the Cubs extended their homer streak to 10 games, thanks to Starlin Castro. The Cubs haven't done that since September 2007.
