Fundraiser

Join the members of Society for Urban Nature (SUN), the auxiliary board of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, for the Helios Bash, one of the hottest, eco-friendly bashes in town! The evening will feature an open bar, sustainable cuisine from Calihan Catering, entertainment by Toast & Jam and a wonderful silent auction and raffle. All proceeds benefit the Nature Museum's TEENS program. (2430 N. Cannon Dr., 7 p.m. Friday)

Beer

Lagunitas Brewing's Lil' Sumpin' WIld is one of our favorite summer beers. An American wheat ale brewed with a strain of Westmalle yeast, the result is a deliciously amazing beer that exhibits characteristics of a plethora of different styles. The Bluebird (1749 N. Damen) will feature Lil' Sumpin' Wild tonight, as well as a flight of different beers, or a food special to pair with the beers. No cover, no reservations necessary.

Martini Class

Chens’ Martini Team will lead a special class on Asian-themed martinis in celebration of the upcoming launch of their new martini menu. For only $20, participants will learn how to make some of Chens’ signature martinis along with some special creations featured on the new menu. Participants will learn while enjoying samples and hors d’oeuvres. All participants will receive a $20 gift certificate for use on their next visit. Martinis to be featured include the classic Chens Martini, the French 75, several new creations and a “Students’ Choice,” among others. Reservations are required. (3506 N. Clark St., 6:30-8 p.m.)
