The man involved in a deadly July 24 hit-and-run accident says he didn't stop because he needed to deliver marijuana to his customers.
The 18-year-old victim had been ejected from his van in a single-car accident and was lying on the northbound lanes of the Dan Ryan Expressway near 69th street when his body was allegedly dragged away by Christopher Williams in his Dodge Charger.
Williams, 28, returned to the vicinity of the hit-and-run an hour and a half later, allegedly telling Illinois State Police he may have run someone over because he heard a “thump, thump” sound as he cruised by.
Williams was taken into police custody on Tuesday, and he is being held without bail, due to a previous bond violation.
