There were a lot of stories to come out of last night's loss to the Braves, such as Mike Quade's decision to bench Starlin Castro before the game for not paying attention in the field against St. Louis.
Or it could have been the reports the Cubs placed Carlos Pena, Alfonso Soriano and Carlos Zambrano on waivers. But the main story was the inability of the Chicago National League Ballclub to drive in runs. The Cubs stranded 15 runners and left the bases loaded twice. Batting 2-for-14 with runners in scoring position is a surefire way to guarantee the Wrigley Faithful won't be leaving the ballgame singing that Godforsaken Steve Goodman song.
The Cubs wound up wasting a quality start by Ryan Dempster. Dempster struck out eight over six innings, but home runs to Dan Uggla and Freddie Freeman were enough to tag him with the loss
