The Cute Lepers
The Cute Lepers and Something Fierce are two bands that are keeping the fun and pop in punk, proving that the Brit vibe is still alive and well.

The Cute Lepers are the slightly more raw and gritty of the two. We added their fast paced “Damaging Acts” to our running playlist before realizing that the entire album could soundtrack a high energy, kick-some-butt workout. The sing-a-long punch-the-sky moment of their new album, Adventure Time, comes in the form of the power-pop hit “Noisy Song”.

Calling themselves “more ‘79 than ’77,” you could call Something Fierce the Clash to The Cute Lepers’ Ramones. The Houston group has a clean, tight brand of punk rock that is especially evident on tracks like “Future Punks” and the bouncy “When You Hurt.” They’ve just released their third album, Don’t Be So Cruel.

Put these bands together, and you’ve got a jump up and down good time, and that’s just what will happen tonight at Beat Kitchen. Tickets are $10. 9pm.
