Do This: Spence Farm and the Food Lovers Guide to Chicago at Browntrout

If you haven't bought your copy of Jennifer Olvera's Food Lovers' Guide to Chicago, don't do it yet! You'll get it tonight. She is co-hosting a very well-priced dinner with Spence Farm at Browntrout. The $40 cost includes four courses of local produce, a signed copy of the book (for each couple) and the opportunity to meet Olvera and the farmers from Spence Farm. Wine pairings are available for an additional $30.
The menu:
- Heirloom Tomato & Grilled Watermelon Salad
Cheese curds, ramp pickled pickles, marjoram pistou, preserved lemon ramp vinaigrette
- Wheatberry, Corn & Bacon Risotto
Smoked pork butt, parmesan, pickled garlic scapes, herbs
- Powell River Organic Steelhead
Eggplant caponata, salsa verde, crispy green beans, confit tomato
- Carrot Zucchini Cake
Mascarpone frosting
