2011_8_31FoodLovers.jpg If you haven't bought your copy of Jennifer Olvera's Food Lovers' Guide to Chicago, don't do it yet! You'll get it tonight. She is co-hosting a very well-priced dinner with Spence Farm at Browntrout. The $40 cost includes four courses of local produce, a signed copy of the book (for each couple) and the opportunity to meet Olvera and the farmers from Spence Farm. Wine pairings are available for an additional $30.

The menu:

- Heirloom Tomato & Grilled Watermelon Salad
Cheese curds, ramp pickled pickles, marjoram pistou, preserved lemon ramp vinaigrette
- Wheatberry, Corn & Bacon Risotto
Smoked pork butt, parmesan, pickled garlic scapes, herbs
- Powell River Organic Steelhead
Eggplant caponata, salsa verde, crispy green beans, confit tomato
- Carrot Zucchini Cake
Mascarpone frosting
