2011_9_2HoneyButterChicken.jpg - It's finally happened - the rumors are true. The fabulous cooks behind Sunday Dinner Club are opening a restaurant. Christine Cikowski (our very occasional contributor) and Josh Kulp announced to Chicago Magazine that they are going to open Honey Butter Fried Chicken, which will serve... you guessed it: fried chicken topped with honey butter. Which is apparently an incredibly decadent taste treat. The restaurant won't open till next year, and Sunday Dinner Club will continue to operate.

- We are automatically biased in favor of any craft cocktail establishment - and when the bartender used to work at The Violet Hour, we're just about sold. Eater announced earlier this week that bartender Stephen Cole is opening Barrelhouse Flat in Lincoln Park later this year. It will serve "artisanal punches and classic cocktails in a beautiful setting" out of an 1892 building, and will feature a vintage vinyl jukebox. We'll definitely be keeping an eye on this one.

- In mandatory Next-related news of the week, The Stew's Kevin Pang talked to Nick Kokonas and got some more details about their upcoming digital cookbook. Some details have changed - it's still coming out through the itunes store, but the "Pay what you want" pricing model is gone. It's going to cost $5 - which is pretty cheap for a glossy cookbook. The Trib got a preview, and called it "lavishly designed and photographed" with embedded videos throughout. In about another month, it'll be available to buy for your iPad.
