Groupon Will Even Discount Your Education

2011_7_28_groupon.jpeg Groupon is partnering up with National Louis University to offer a discounted price on a teaching course at the school's Chicago campus, marking the first time an academic university has tried using Groupon's services this way.

The deal is good for one 3-credit course: a graduate-level introduction to teaching that meets this fall for three hours on Monday evenings. Regular tuition for the class is $2,232, but tuition will be $950 with the Groupon. There are only 25 spots available in the class. The Tribune writes:

The course, tailored for people with no exposure or experience with teaching, is specifically structured for the Groupon deal and is open to anybody with an undergraduate degree, she said. National Louis will offer the course only at its Chicago campus, 122 S. Michigan Ave.
Well, that's one way to get students in the door. To complete the full 36-credit program, students would need to apply for admission.
