The Interrupters Gets A UN Screening

2011_9_8_the_interrupters.jpg The Steve James-directed, Alex Kotlowitz-produced The Interrupters gets its highest profile screening and accolade yet. The film will be screened Wednesday in New York before delegates of the United Nations as part of the International Day of Peace celebrations.

James and Kotlowitz will be in attendance, joined by Co-Producer Zak Piper, and interrupters Ameena Matthews, Eduardo Bocanegra, and Ricardo 'Cobe' Williams. The following day, they will all be present as the UN rings the Peace Bell to commemorate the International Day of Peace.

This is a pretty high honor. At this point an Oscar would be anticlimactic. We'll also take the time to remind those of you who haven't seen the film but wish to that tickets for the Film Center's October run of The Interrupters are now on sale.
