Gothamist was shocked when a City Councilman and a Public Advocate's Office staffer were arrested while trying to head to a breakfast after the West Indian Day Parade, even though they showed cops their city-issued IDs (video). Councilman Jumaane Williams later said that he wouldn't have been arrested if he were white.
