Do This: Guinness Oyster Festival

If trading off between slurping down heady beers and fresh-shucked oysters sounds like your idea of a heavenly good time, get thee to Roscoe Village this weekend. Tonight from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and tomorrow from 11:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., the intersection between Damen and Roscoe in will be taken over by the Guinness Oyster Festival, a rollicking outdoor celebration of brews and bivalves, complete with a deep lineup of musical entertainment.
Benefiting the Roscoe Village Chamber of Commerce (suggested entrance donation is $7), this year's Guinness Oyster Fest - expanded for the first time to two days - will sling oysters provided by the Village Tap and a host of good beer, including the eponymous Irish stout. Main-stage musical acts include Britain's The Human League; Alien Ant Farm, out of California; and Canadian New-Wavers Men Without Hats. A second stage will be added on Saturday to serve up Irish acts like The Cunningham's & Friends dancers and the traditional Irish musicians Chicago Reel. While their parents brine out, kids can scale a climbing wall or play some mini golf. See more information, including the full lineup of entertainment, here.
