Skeeball League Launches in Chicago

Chicago-Skeeball-League-logo-cropped-copy-450x312.jpg After years of toil in suburban Showbiz Pizzas and Chuck E Cheeses, we thought we'd hit it big time on our last visit to Dave & Busters. When we cracked 500 points on skeeball, the siren sounded, the lights strobed and the machine spit out orange tickets until we were waist deep. Instantly, we imagined a life as a professional Skeeball player. Alas, our wealth of orange tickets was still not enough for the off-brand LCD TV or even the clock/radio. As we left D&B with our four pint glasses (the glass ones!) we realized that our status in the sport would forever remain amateur.

That doesn't mean we can't kick some ass in league play! We're excited to learn about the launch of the Chicago chapter of SkeeNation, which bills itself as "America's Premier Skeeball League." The league season kicks off in mid-September, so if you're interested contact them ASAP. The Chicago Skeeball League matches are held at Flat Rock Tavern in Lincoln Park (2476 N. Lincoln), which also hosts the league's kick-off party tonight.
