Morning Box Score: Cubs End Home Slate with Win, Sox Top Tribe

The Cubs closed out the home portion of their regular season with a win over the prospective NL Central Champion Brewers yesterday and they did it in style. Matt Garza went the distance to pick up the win. It was Garza's second complete game of the season. Garza also received some support from some possible building blocks for next season. DJ LeMahieu drove in two runs, Starlin Castro had an RBI and came up one hit short of reaching 200 hits for the season. Manager Mike Quade is entering the season's final week looking on the bright side of life. He seems to be the only person in Chicago to think he's coming back to manage the club next season.
Mark Buehrle broke out of his slump in a big way yesterday. Buehrle's sleight of hand put Indians hitters in a trance for six innings while Alexei Ramirez, Brent Morel and Alex Rios each homered to pace the Sox lineup. Buehrle has one more start remaining at home against Toronto and it could be his last with the Sox as he's in the final year of a four-year deal.
