Apple Fest Returns to Lincoln Square

2011_9_23_Applefest.jpg Autumn also means apples. (Notice an autumnal theme working through the posts today? It's a happy accident.) We're stocking up on as many varieties as we can find to make pies, preserves, press for the juice or just eat on their own.

The Lincoln Square Chamber of Commerce's 24th annual Apple Fest is still slated to happen tomorrow - Sunday was being touted as an alternate day for weather reasons but we're stuck with what we've got outside all weekend.

Stop at Giddings Plaza in Lincoln Square tomorrow from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. where vendors will hawk their apple cider, apple pie, caramel apples, even apple pizza. Other vendors will have apple themed clothing, art and other notions available for purchase.

There's a kids zone with events including story time, a dog costume contest, family yoga, art and more. A music stage will feature folks and acoustic music in the afternoon and a Wiggleworms performance in the morning. For families who don't want to push their stroller through the plaza, stroller parking is available.
