- A 22-year-old man held his girlfriend captive, beat her with a crowbar and cut an "x" into her chest. The judge denied bond, saying there are no conditions "that would keep the community safe from you."
- Police are looking for the driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run in Uptown. The driver struck a female pedestrian, then backed up and hit her again.
- A 20-year-old mother is accused of shaking her toddler to death.
