Weekend Diversion: Andrew Bird's 'Bein' Green' on Henson's 75th Birthday

Saturday, Sept. 24, 2011 would have been cultural icon Jim Henson's 75th birthday. It also happened to be the Hideout Block Party celebrating 15 years of music with headliner Andrew Bird. Bird recently lent his pipes to Kermit the Frog's classic "Bein' Green" for a Muppets tribute album called The Green Album, and he performed the song live last night to his adoring hometown crowd.

Also, to mark the occasion Google made an interactive "doodle" that allows you to be a virtual muppeteer. Try it out and make your own Kermit or Piggy.
