September, truth be told, is a month we'd like to put behind us already. The weather outside is surly right now but it's supposed to settle down a bit once Nature has had her morning coffee. Either that or she's a Packers fan and this is all piling on. Which will be a while if the forecast from Skilling Central is to be believed. Temperatures should pick up by the afternoon to rise to the low 60s, but the clouds and rain may stay in the area through tomorrow.

On this date in 1833 the second Treaty of Chicago granted the United States government all land west of Lake Michigan to Lake Winnebago in Wisconsin, including land that is now part of western Illinois.
