The Next Menu Trend: Childhood

Grant Achatz may have started autumn's big menu trend when he told Time Out Chicago's Heather Shouse Next would be looking at favorite childhood dishes for Next's upcoming menu.
Looks as though revisiting what Achatz calls "The Pancake Theory" has led to a childhood-themed pop-up dinner by Scott Jambrosek and Oliver Poilevey, the Le Sardine and Le Bouchon chefs also behind Gypsy.
Gypsy's "childhood" menu Oct. 2 will feature Jambrosek and Polievey's twists on such childhood staples as mac and cheese, baby food, popcorn, eggs and ham, spaghetti and meatballs and more. It's a six course meal that will either have guests saying "i've never had anything like it" or "Mom made it better. Here's the menu.
