Unicycle Loves You, a local power-pop trio, released the first official single from Failure, its upcoming third album. "Sun Comes Out (And I Don't Care)" was released on Monday, and it's a driving, lush blend of layered psychedelia and mid-fi garage rock.

The song fades into the either too quickly after a gnarly noise-jam, and I can't see the song's vocal melody really sticking in the listener's mind. Before then, though, there's lots of pleasing production touches, and a nice, new-wave referencing pre-chorus that allows the song to breath a bit. Hopefully, the rest of Failure will be more along those focused lines, and feature less of a hap-dash psych-rock vibe. Failure will be released on Valentine's Day 2012. Before then, the group heads to the Beat Kitchen on Oct. 10th with Dinosaur Bones. Tickets are $8 for the 21+ show.
