Around Town Friday: The Apple Store Steve Jobs tribute
By Chuck Sudo in Arts & Entertainment on Oct 7, 2011 5:00PM
The tributes to the late Apple CEO Steve Jobs continue to pour in, with the makeshift shrine at the Michigan Avenue Apple Store growing by the hour.
Jobs' death is the cultural news of the moment, overshadowing the passing of Civil Rights icon Fred Shuttlesworth the same day. We aren't going to lecture anyone on how to externalize his grief. For some, the pop-up shrines are beautiful remembrances of a man who influenced peoples' lives. To others, the shrines are littering, at the very least.
But they are growing and make for an excellent photo gallery.
