Michael Ruhlman in Chicago to Promote "Ruhlman's 20"

The entire city has been abuzz with the news that famed food writer Michael Ruhlman is coming to town this week to promote his new book, Ruhlman's 20. Several events have already sold out (including one that sold out the day it was announced) but there are a few great ways you can still meet up with him.

If you're looking to get your copy of Ruhlman's 20 signed by the author, there are two great opportunities to meet the man himself. First, meet up tonight at The Butcher & Larder. Ruhlman will be doing a sausage making class with 20 lucky tweeters (can we press our noses against the glass?) but if you want to meet him anyway, show up after the class at 8 p.m. He'll be signing from 8-9 p.m.

Ruhlman's cooking class at The Chopping Block sold out in one day. But, The Chopping Block (Merchandise Mart location) tells us that he will be staying after the class to do a signing, open to the public. Show up tomorrow at 1:30 p.m., bring your book, and you'll be all set. We have a sneaking suspicion they will have some to sell if you haven't gotten a copy yet.

The piece de resistance - dinner with Ruhlman at The Publican. Could a ticket be any more coveted? Tomorrow, the Publican is hosting one of their book-inspired dinners based on Ruhlman's new book. Second: Shallow poached walleye with matsutake mushrooms & eggplant sauerkraut
Third: Aged duck breast with winter garbure (winter stew) & truffles
Fourth: Angel food cake
