If you're looking to get your copy of Ruhlman's 20 signed by the author, there are two great opportunities to meet the man himself. First, meet up tonight at The Butcher & Larder. Ruhlman will be doing a sausage making class with 20 lucky tweeters (can we press our noses against the glass?) but if you want to meet him anyway, show up after the class at 8 p.m. He'll be signing from 8-9 p.m.
Ruhlman's cooking class at The Chopping Block sold out in one day. But, The Chopping Block (Merchandise Mart location) tells us that he will be staying after the class to do a signing, open to the public. Show up tomorrow at 1:30 p.m., bring your book, and you'll be all set. We have a sneaking suspicion they will have some to sell if you haven't gotten a copy yet.
The piece de resistance - dinner with Ruhlman at The Publican. Could a ticket be any more coveted? Tomorrow, the Publican is hosting one of their book-inspired dinners based on Ruhlman's new book. The four course dinner (menu below) is $45, $60 with beer pairings. Call 312-733-9555 and reserve your ticket now.
Ruhlman's 20 Dinner at The Publican

Second: Shallow poached walleye with matsutake mushrooms & eggplant sauerkraut
Third: Aged duck breast with winter garbure (winter stew) & truffles

Michael Ruhlman was an inspiration to us from the beginning of our food-loving lives. If you've never read any of his books, pick up a copy today. You won't regret it.
