City Provisions To Launch Two New Collaboration Beers

2011_8_23_PTi.jpg Cleetus Friedman, the owner of City Provisions, has been serving up a series of small-batch collaboration beers since mid-summer. We got a chance to try the latest (Terminator X, brewed with Greenbush Brewing) during brunch last Sunday, and now you can join in the fun. In the next week, City Provisions will be hosting launch parties for two new beers, and you're all invited.

First up is "Finch’s Slackjawed Dunkel," brewed in collaboration with Chicago's own Finch's Brewing Co. This beer includes 30 pounds of honey from Friedman's own hive. It'll be launched on October 18th, at a party from 6-9 p.m. at City Provisions. There's no cover charge, and the beer (plus snacks) will be available until it runs out.

The next party is on Friday, October 21, from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m.. This time, the beer will be brewed in collaboration with Metropolitan. Carburetor Rye Bock #58, aged in a Templeton Rye barrel, will be on sale until the single keg runs out.

Stop in at one or both of these events, and you won't be disappointed. If you're a beer geek, brewers (and Friedman) will be on hand, and if you miss out on the beer, you can always pick up a half pound of amazing home-made bacon and call it even.

City Provisions is located at 1818 W. Wilson.
