A South Side woman faces criminal charges after throwing cupcakes at her husband during a domestic dispute. Allegedly the two were verbally arguing Saturday, when she started to hit him. Then she grabbed a box of cupcakes and lobbed the treats at him. Police say the man had icing on his head and shirt when they arrived at the scene. The Tribune writes:

He told officers he feared for his safety, and she was verbally aggressive with officers, the report states. Police said she admitted hurling the treats at her husband.

Records indicate that the alleged victim himself has been arrested three times since 2003 on domestic battery or battery charges. Charges in all three cases were later dropped.

Along with misdemeanor charges of domestic battery, the judge also ordered electronic monitoring for the woman, who was released on $10,000 bond.
