1st Ward Ald. Proco Joe Moreno wants to prove he's not a hipster by doing some punk rock karaoke at Quencher's Nov. 4 to raise money for Goethe School. Tickets are $10 in advance, $15 at the door. [2401 N. Western Ave.; 6 p.m.]

Film

The Silent Film Society of Chicago's annual Halloween program Thursday will be a screening of the Lon Chaney classic The Phantom of the Opera. Jay Warren, the SFSC's photoplay specialist, will provide musical accompaniment and a costume contest that night can earn someone a $200 cash prize. [Portage Theater, 4050 N. Chicago Magazine and The Auxiliary Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital present Chicago's Table 2011 Friday night from 6-9 p.m. at the River East Art Center (435 E. Illinois St.).
