If you have a fireplace today would be a good day to give it a test run. The forecast from Skilling Central says we'll have north winds gusting to 20 MPH as the day progresses, helping to keep the projected high of 54 feeling a bit cooler than that. Rain could be in the cards if you're south of Chicago.

On this date in Chicago history Paula Radcliffe ran the fastest women's time in the Chicago Marathon, crossing the finish line at two hours, 17 minutes and 18 seconds.
