Looking For A Ride? Keep An Eye Out For Kindness Cab

2011_20_Kindness_Cab.jpg Back in 2006, Leon Logothetis trekked across the States on only $5 a day and the generosity of strangers, and then he turned it into the TV show Amazing Adventures of a Nobody. Well, he’s up to his nomadic antics again, this time traveling from NYC to LA in the Kindness Cab and giving away free taxi rides along the way.

Starting Monday, Logothetis will hit the road in his vintage London cab, GOOD reported. He’ll start in Times Square, make his way through 11 cities, and reach his destination at LA’s Hollywood sign in mid November. Logothetis is scheduled to stop by Chicago on Monday, October 31 to cart around locals decked out in their Halloween attire or anyone who asks, really.

While the rides are free, the meter will be running the whole time. Logothetis will match the total fare accumulated in each city, using money from the proceeds of his new book recounting his traveling adventures as ‘Nobody’. He’ll donate that amount to a local school, which can use the money to purchase books through Class Wish. That means the more taxi rides he gives in Chicago, the more a lucky local school receives.

So how do you get a ride? Ask him for one on Facebook or tweet your request with the tag #thekindnesscab, and wait for a response.
