Do This: Frontier's Bi-Weekly Speakeasy

By Roger Kamholz in Food on Oct 28, 2011 6:20PM

2011_10_28_frontier-facade.jpgOn Wednesday, November 2, West Town restaurant Frontier will be hosting the third installment of its "secret" speakeasy party, which is slated to take place every other Wednesday evening, starting at 8 p.m. (subsequent installments will fall on November 16, 30, etc.).

For the next speakeasy, Frontier has put together a menu of $5 specialty cocktails featuring Templeton Rye, Carpano Antica sweet vermouth and Reyka Vodka. Here are what the bartenders will be mixing up:

FLIM FLAM'S TUMBLEWEED
Templeton Rye Whiskey, Fresh Lemon Juice, and Barritt's Bermuda Ginger Beer with a float of Angostura Bitters

CHERRY SMASH
Templeton Rye Whiskey, Cherry Heering Liqueur with Simple Syrup, and Lemon Juice

CLASSIC MANHATTAN
Templeton Rye Whiskey, Carpano Antica Sweet Vermouth with Bitters, and Brandied Cherries

MOSCOW MULE
Reyka Vodka with Lime Juice and Ginger Beer

A $5 Manhattan ain't bad, but free is even better, right? For every specialty speakeasy cocktail purchased, guests will be entered in a contest to win a $50 bar tab. If you're not familiar with Frontier, check out our write-up from its opening. Oh, and in typical speakeasy fashion, entry will be password-protected; email speakeasychi@gmail.com to get the password to Wednesday's event.

Frontier is located at 1072 North Milwaukee Avenue.
