* Cactus Bar and Grill is hosting a Halloween charity event to benefit the Greater Chicago Food Depository on Friday, Oct. 28, 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. The event is free, but donations of canned goods are strongly encouraged, as are costumes. Drink specials include $2 fall-flavored jello shots in festive flavors and $4 Blue Moon Winter Ale pints. Your canned good donation gets you a complimentary appetizer, including sliders, salsa, artichoke jalapeno dip or wings. 404 South Wells St.

* The Scout Waterhouse and Kitchen in the South Loop is hosting a Halloween party on Sunday, Oct. 30, 9 p.m. to midnight with music by LA & Mr. Music and DJ Neurotic. There will also be a $35 buffet package with decent liquors, appetizers and 12" grilled cheese. 1301 S. Wabash Ave.

* Fifty/50 is throwing a Halloween Bash on Saturday, Oct. 29, 10 p.m. to 1 a.m. The party features a $50 three-hour private party package with food and drink, DJs, a $300 cash prize for best Halloween costume and $5 Halloween-themed Stoli cocktails, like Witch's Brew and a Bloody Scary. * Tribute Restaurant has food and drink specials some yummy-sounding fall cocktails. They're offering a spicy "murder burger" and a "spooktacular cake," chocolate with orange butter cream frosting. 800 S. Michigan Ave.

* Seadog Cruises is offering haunted tours at Navy Pier this weekend, offering up info on Chicago's spookiest sites and supernatural occurrences. These all-ages depart at 7 p.m., $28.95 adults, $17.95 children 4-12, 3 and under free. 600 E. Grand Ave.

* El's Kitchen is hosting a horror movie night on Saturday, Oct. 29, 7 p.m. to 2 a.m., with live music and drink specials, plus a complimentary slice of homemade pumpkin pie with purchase of entree. 1450 N. Webster Avenue

* Quartino Ristorante is throwing a free Beggars' Day celebration on Sunday, Oct. 30, noon to 5 p.m. The event features complimentary pumpkin carving supplies and a tutorial from the chef. Plus, they'll have free candy apples and candy corn treats. Yum. 626 N. State St.
