Man Dives Head-First into Open Car Window

2011_10_31_jump_car.jpg A scene from a stoner comedy played out on the West side Friday afternoon. 21-year-old Charles Farris was recklessly driving his Dodge Durango (is there any other operate a Durango?) when he ran a red light near Division Street and Pulaski Road, hit a car, spun out and hit a fence.

Farris then jumped out of his car, ran down the street and, with police in pursuit, jumped into the open window of another vehicle and landed face-first in the lap of the driver. (The driver of the car Farris hit suffered a cracked rib.)

Police pepper sprayed and arrested Farris and charged him with, among other counts, aggravated driving while intoxicated, including resisting an officer, driving on a suspended license and reckless driving. He was already free on bond on a September charge of aggravated driving while intoxicated and tested positive for PCP and marijuana. Farris was ordered held on $50,000 bond yesterday.
