Read This: A.V. Club's Crash Course in Chicago Metal History
By Samantha Abernethy in Arts & Entertainment on Oct 31, 2011 8:20PM
Today the A.V. Club published the first of a four-part series on the oral history of Chicago's underrated metal music scene. Starting with the "early years," A.V. Club's Roger Riddell spoke with a number of artists about the nascent years of the scene with all that "underground shit," as Cianide's Scott Carroll so charmingly put it. Other performers interviewed include Mike Perun of Cianide, Bruce Lamont of Yakuza and Bloodiest and Paul Speckmann of many local bands.
The other three parts of the series will be published this week. Keep an eye out and follow along.
