Fountainhead is getting into the Day of the Dead spirit tonight with a celebration of beers for the occasion. 5 Rabbit's Vida y Muerte Muertzenbier will be served, as will Stone's Oaked Bastard on cask, Half Acre's Mr. Ouroboros and some cask-aged Zombie Dust from Three Floyd's. They'll also have a silent charity auction to raise money for the UNO Charter School Network. Items for auction will include a bottle of Three Floyds Dark Lord, a hand carved tap handle for 5 Rabbit's Vida y Muerte Muertzenbier, a signed copy of the new book "The Craft of Stone Brewing" by Stone CEO Greg Koch, as well as a some other fun rarities like a bottle of Founders Canadian Breakfast Stout. (1970 W. Montrose, 4 p.m. - midnight)

Music

The Jazz Institute of Chicago presents a saxophone summit featuring James Perkins, Juli Wood, Kevin Nabors, Rajiv Halim, and Pat Mallinger 7 p.m. Friday night at the South Shore Cultural Center (7059 South Shore Dr.). Best part of this event: it's free for all ages.

Film

The Northwest Chicago Film Society presents a screening of Bette Davis in Of Human Bondage at the Portage Theater tonight at 7:30 p.m. That will be preceded by the 1937 Friz Freeling cartoon She was an Acrobat's Daughter. Portage in-house organist Jay Warren will be behind the Wurlitzer. (4050 N. Milwaukee Ave., $5)
