Here's a festival that combines two of our favorite hobbies: bicycling and film. The Bicycle Film Festival has been making stops for years, usually during warmer climes. This being Chicago, as serious about cycling as any city, that shouldn't faze the cyclists who will be kicking off the festival with a bike ride 5:45 p.m. today at Division and Campbell.

From there, over 10 hours of bicycle films - most of them between four and 90 minutes - will be screened at the Logan Square Auditorium. There's something for everyone here: documentaries, experimental film, fiction and straight to video footage of bike races, culture and travel.

The festival concludes Sunday with a BMX BBQ Jam at the Logan Square skatepark from 2-5 p.m., featuring vegetarian fare from River Valley Kitchens and BMX, fixed gear freestyle & flat land contests. Tickets to the various film programs are available at the Bicycle Film Festival website.
