Museum Exhibits

The Edgewater Historical Society Museum (5358 N. Ashland Ave.) presents "Edgewater Grocery Stores 1886-today," an exhibition of photos and artifacts from the early Edgewater and Andersonville groceries. The exhibit will trace the evolution of over-the-counter service stores in the late 19th century to ethnic and specialty stores in the early and mid-20th century, to the beginning of chain stores and supermarkets that we know today. The exhibit opens tomorrow and runs through March 24, 2012.
