Soup and Bread's Martha Bayne will discuss the cultural history of soup and bread and their contemporary uses in building community and fostering social justice, which is also the subject of her latest Soup and Bread Cookbook. Bayne will also have a possible slide presentation. (Jane Addams Hull-House Museum, 12-1 p.m. Tuesday)

Are You Ready for Some Football?

The Bears take on the Eagles tonight (and for those of you who don't have satellite or cable, the game will be broadcast on WCIU 26.1). The Steve Dahl Show's "Monday Night FootDahl" series continues tonight at Haymarket Pub & Brewery starting at 7 p.m., if you wish to catch it at a bar. (737 W. Randolph St.)

Jazz

Two time Grammy nominee and winner of the prestigious Thelonious Monk International Jazz Piano Competition, Jacky Terrasson, brings his new trio of Ben Williams and drummer Jamire Williams to the Chicago Cultural Center for a free concert 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The concert will be held in the Cultural Center's Preston Bradley Hall.
